Best Pratices: Kids at your wedding

Weddings are family events, and this means you may have guests with kids to consider!

If you’re wondering how you can keep the kiddos entertained at your wedding, or would prefer to have only adults on your big day, we have the answers for you.

• Be clear about your expectations on your invitations.  
  It’s okay to politely request an adults-only zone, and it’s okay to have kids at your event! Remember: this is your special day! Decide where you stand sooner rather than later, and be sure to let your guests know what the rules are so that they can plan accordingly. Your invitations are a perfect communication tool for you to use in this case!
• Having kids at the wedding? Design an activity table.
  Once the little ones have finished eating, they’re going to be itching for something to do. An activity table is an easy, DIY way to offer a welcomed distraction for those kiddos. You could include coloring sheets and activity pages, crayons (pro tip: avoid markers to avoid a mess!), and board games to keep the kids entertained!
• Build a “kids dance” into your timeline.
  Set aside some time for the DJ to play two or three kid-friendly songs. Give the little ones a chance to burn off some of that steam, and your guests will love the photo op!
